Righteousness - The Right To Prosper

As we continue through our "Bill of Rights"  as righteous people , let's look back on what we've seen so far. If you missed any of these, I'd suggest going back and discovering your rights as a believer . Up to this point, we've discovered:    - Righteousness gives  us  the right  to be delivered from trouble, as well as  our family .    - Righteousness gives us the right  to have our prayers  heard  and  answered .    - Righteousness gives us the right  to health in our  physical bodies .    - Righteousness gives us the right  to favor (or  grace ) with other people. All of these benefits are promised to righteous people. And since you've been made righteous by faith in Jesus, why would you back off from them? This is especially important as we move on to the next right we have by faith. Today, let's discover your  right to prosperity . A Needlessly-Controversial Promis...

Righteousness - The Right To Favor

" For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous ; with favor you will surround him as with a shield." -  Psalm 5:12 Are you righteous? Hopefully, by this point you've come to the conclusion that you are. By placing your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you have been declared right with God - you are a righteous person now. So let's continue our discussion on your newfound rights - the Biblical results of your  righteousness. According to the verse we just read, righteous people have the right to favor  that surrounds them. What Is Favor? " Chen " (pronounced "kane"). This is the Hebrew word that is most often translated into the English word "favor". Twenty-six times we read this in the King James as "favor". Here are a few examples:    " But the Lord was with Joseph, and showed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. " - Genesis 39:21    " And the Lord gave the peopl...

Righteousness - The Right To Physical Health

We've been learning that our righteousness gives us the right to certain privileges in this lifetime. These rights that believers have access to often go unused...mainly because they are either undiscovered or unrealized by most Christians. So far, we've seen: That believers have the right to be delivered from trouble . That believers have the right to answered prayer . As we learn more about our "bill of rights", let's remember the words of Psalm 103 - " forget NOT all His benefits ".  Don't allow yourself to settle for less than what God gave you when He made you righteous. Now, the third right I want to bring to your attention is major . Because you are a righteous person, you have the right to a strong, healthy physical body . Disclaimer: God DOES Heal Unrighteous People Hear me: I'm not trying to make the point that ONLY righteous people experience miraculous and supernatural healing. The scriptures are full of people wh...

Righteousness - The Right To Answered Prayer

Now let's move on to the second Biblical "right" of righteous people . As you read this post, remember to stay on guard against the mindset of " righteousness is what I do ." Without repeating everything that we've learned up to this point, let me remind you that righteousness is a gift   that God gives to everyone who puts their faith in Him. One of the results of being righteous is this: God hears  your prayers  differently than He does others. Open Ears " The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. " - Proverbs 15:29 If there's one thing I wish people in the world understood, it's this: God will not hear  the prayer of the wicked. So it doesn't make sense to me when I hear a sinner complaining, " I prayed and begged God for something, and He never did it! " Well of course He didn't! He's under no obligation  to listen to what a sinner in the world is asking. In fact, accor...

Righteousness - The Right To Be Delivered From Trouble

Psalm 18:24 " Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness,  according to the cleanness of my hands in His sight. " Hopefully, by now I've convinced you that you're clean and righteous in the sight of God. By this point - if you've been paying attention, you should be able to say without any doubt, "I am a righteous person - the Bible says so." If you've come to this point, then the next step is to boldly declare, " God will reward me according to my righteousness! " Rest assured of this, my friend: The righteousness that you received by faith will bring you results here on earth!  There are a list of "rights" in the Bible that you now have access to because of your righteousness. These are benefits and blessings that are promised to those who have met the conditions ...conditions that have now been fulfilled by our right-standing with God! Let's take a look at the first right that is given to th...

How To Seek God's Righteousness

Matthew 6:33 " But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness , and all these things shall be added to you. " Here's where we start to pivot on the subject of righteousness. I want to start moving from the truth  that you are righteous in Christ Jesus, to talking about the benefits  of that righteousness. If you look at Matthew 6:33, you'll see the incredible blessings that come from attaining God's righteousness... everything that the world seeks after will simply  be added   to the righteous! Righteousness brings results. In the same way that sin has consequences; righteousness has rewards! When you agree with God about your right-standing, then there are earthly rewards  that you can expect now, in this lifetime . Let me show you two passages of Scripture that prove this: Proverbs 11:31 " If the righteous will be rewarded on the earth , how much more the ungodly and the sinner . " Psalm 58:11 "So that men will say, 'Surely th...

The Only Way To DO What's Right

" Awake to righteousness , and do not sin... " -1 Corinthians 15:34 So what about sin? If we're made right with God by faith ... and we are ... And if that righteousness doesn't depend on what we do ....and it doesn't ... ...then doesn't that mean we can get away with anything we want and still be righteous? That is completely the wrong question to be asking. Don't ever  allow yourself to ask it again! If you truly  believed that you've been made into a righteous person, then the correct question is: What would a righteous person want to do ?" You see, the reason Christians still struggle with the desire to sin is that they haven't embraced the righteousness that's already been given to them. They still view themselves as sinners  that are trying to reform themselves . If that was the truth, then of course the desire to sin would still be a problem for them. Look back up at the phrase from 1 Corinthians 15:34 and read it caref...
