Prosperous Mindset 3 - Without Reserve

We've already seen the first two mindsets you must  have if you want to prosper in your finances: Number 1 - You must develop discipline with your money. Don't let your spending get out of your control! Number 2 - You must keep a good perspective on the value of money . It's not entirely worthless ; but it is worth less  than other things.  As we move onto the third mindset of prosperous believers, let's take a look at one of God's specific commands  to wealthy Christians - from 1 Timothy 6:17-18. " Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, Who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share... " Mindset #3 - Prosperous People Are Selfless Givers Because they value money correctly - not putting too much emphasis on it - then they willingly use it for things that truly matter. Prosperous people freely give...

Prosperous Mindset 2 - Valuing Money Correctly

Matthew 6:24 - "No one can serve to masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon. " When reading this verse, keep this in mind: God  is " the one"  - Mammon  is " the other ." Mammon is the personification of this world's system, and everything that it has to offer. Overwhelmingly, the driving force behind everything in this "Mammon" system is money. If you're in love with money, you will hate God. But when you're loyal to God, you will despise  (not hate) money. To "despise" something doesn't mean to hate it or be repulsed by it. To despise simply means to take it lightly , or not put too much value in it. This is the second mindset of prosperous people: they understand that money is only a means to an end, not the end itself. Mindset #2 - Prosperous People Value Money Correctly. These people know that money actua...

Prosperous Mindset 1 - Disciplined

Hopefully, enough groundwork has been laid by now: - You know that God wants you to prosper - You also know that prosperity destroys fools - Because of this, God loves His kids too much to prosper them when they're acting foolish. - And we know this means that we need to change . 2 John 2 - " Beloved, I pray above all things that you would prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. " So let's start looking at the soul of a prosperous believer, and learn how we can develop it in our own lives. Mindset #1 - Prosperous People Are D isciplined. Let's take a look at Proverbs 21:20 from several different translations: NKJV - " There is desirable treasure, and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man squanders it. " NIV - " The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down. " NASB - " There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man swallows it up. " NLT - " The...

A Mind To Prosper - Willing To Change

First - If you're a believer, God wants you to prosper ! Second - Since prosperity destroys a fool , God will not let you prosper if you're thinking or acting foolishly. That's not because He's punishing you  for being foolish. No, out of love , God will not give you something that will hurt you...even if it's His will for you to have it. If your soul  isn't prospering, neither will your checkbook. 3 John 2 - " Beloved, I wish that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. " So naturally, those two points bring us here: If we're not experiencing the prosperity of God in our lives, then we must change.  No amount of begging and believing will change what God has already  said. No "fortunate" circumstance will ever bring prosperity that lasts.   If you're going to prosper, then it has to start inside of  you .  "If Only My Circumstances Were Better..." A one-time solution is not the answer to...

A Mind To Prosper - Prosperity: The Destruction Of Fools

Previously, we discovered that God wants His people to prosper...and also that His plan to prosper us includes  financial success. ( Before you disagree with this statement, back up and read my first post . ) But when I was writing that, I made some assumptions: 1 - You were a born-again believer 2 - You habitually spend time in God's Word and prayer 3 - You lived for HIS glory, not your own 4 - You had an outward perspective, walking in love toward other people These are the believers that are in prime position to receive financial prosperity. But that blessing does not  manifest in everyone's life. There are even many  Christians who have heard the prosperity message, but never experience it for themselves. Why was that the case? Are there some Christians that get blessed in their finances, and others that remain permanently poor? If I said "yes"...would that surprise you? I do not believe that every one of God's people will experience the promise of prosperi...

A Mind To Prosper - God Wants His People Prosperous!

Psalm 35:27 - " Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, 'Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.' " Biblical Prosperity Listen... I know the stigma. I know the stereotype that popped into your mind as soon as you read "prosperity". I know that the world likes to pick on Christians who actually dare to believe that God's people  should be blessed! But let me try to straighten some things out...starting from a biblical perspective.  Let's start with a basic definition: What is prosperity? Prosperity is not necessarily synonymous with "wealth". It's not exclusively money...even though a lot of unbelievers (including "Christian unbelievers") try to accuse some preachers of being 'money-hungry' or 'greedy' when they talk about prosperity. True Biblical prosperity is this: Living your life in the full blessing of God...lea...
